PisaMover - A MiniMetro® to connect the airport with the railway station in the Italian city
The Italian city of Pisa, with its famous leaning tower, will soon have a modern and highly reliable people mover: The almost two-kilometer MiniMetro® will link Galileo Galilei Airport and the railway station “Centrale”, with a mid-point stop at a 1,200 vehicle car park. Even with the mid-point stop, transit time will be a mere four minutes. In the first five years of operation, the two trains, which will run at five-minute intervals, are expected to carry two million passengers.
The contract covers the planning, construction and subsequent operation of the Pisamover including the car park. The project is being handled on the basis of a public-private partnership involving LEITNER/AGUDIO, Condotte d’Aqua and Inso Sistemi.
