Pisamover – LEITNER marks another milestone
LEITNER will complete the implementation of the new MiniMetro "Pisamover" next summer 2016. The rope-driven transport system on rails will run between the city's airport and its train station. The installation of the technical components of the route is already in full swing. The new bogie, which will be used in this MiniMetro for the first time, has been developed in cooperation with the University of Pisa. This week, the bogie has been presented to the person in charge of the project.
The Security Commission of the Transport Ministry came to Vipiteno the last few days to check the conformity and the applicability of the MiniMetro in the city. On this occasion, the latest technological development for the MiniMetro system, the bogie, has been presented. The cabins used on the bogie have been designed by star architect Adolfo Natalini. Natalini was also responsible for the architectural design of the metro stations. The two vehicles will run between the airport and the train station and offer space for up to 400 people.
For the presentation in Vipiteno, all responsible persons of various institutions involved in the project were invited. For instance, Prof. Francesco Frendo from the Construction and Industrial Engineering Program at the University of Pisa, representatives of the construction companies Condotte and Inso as well as Alessandro Fiorindi, responsible for the project and administrator of the company Pisamo which is the client of the project. Also Angela Nobile, the responsible person for the project in the city council of Pisa has attended the presentation.
Michael and Anton Seeber, hosts of the event, have presented together with the Project Manager Ermenegildo Zordan important projects such as the MiniMetro in Perugia, Cairo, Frankfurt and Miami.
